This website is operated by the Workforce Singapore Agency ("WSG"). WSG provides services and resources pertaining to career development. The services provided shall be known as the "Services". The words "we", "us" and "our" shall refer to WSG.

This privacy policy (the "Policy") is between WSG and you as user of the Website and Services.

By logging in accessing the Website and using the Services, you represent that you are at least eighteen (18) years old and you are deemed to have read, understood and accepted the terms and conditions of this Policy and the Terms of Use as amended from time to time. In the event that you are below eighteen (18) years of age, you confirm that you have your parent’s or legal guardian’s consent ("Requisite Consent") to the terms of this Policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Policy, capitalised terms used in this Policy shall have the respective meaning set out in the Terms of Use.

1. Introduction and Scope of this Policy

We take your privacy very seriously and are committed to protecting your privacy and providing you with means to safely use the Website and our Services. This Policy sets out how we collect, use and protect Personal Data (as defined below) which you have provided to us through the Website and Services.

"Personal Data" refers to personally identifiable information about you including your name, phone number, email address and contact details, and other personal information incidental to your interaction with the Services.

You shall be deemed to have consented to the collection and retention by WSG of any Personal Data collected ("Additional Personal Data") through your use of the Website.

  • through your activity on or through the Website (including your input of search terms or skills on the Website, through the feedback survey or through the usage pattern on the Website) and site you exit to (automatically collected); and

All Personal Data, Additional Personal Data and Data collected from you shall be done in accordance with this Policy (collectively referred to as "Collected Data").

In accessing the Website and using the Services, you have consented for us to collect such Collected Data, in order for us to provide the Services to you effectively.

3. Retention, Use and Storage of Collected Data by WSG

We require the Collected Data to provide you with the best possible service and experience when using our Services and the Website. The Collected Data may be used by us for the following reasons:

  • to operate the Services and provide the Services to you;

  • to enable us to contact you;

  • to improve the content and quality of our Services; and

  • for our internal account handling, business and administrative purposes.

 

We store the Collected Data in a combination of secure computer storage facilities and other records. To safeguard the Collected Data, all electronic storage and transmission of personally identifiable information are secured with appropriate security technologies. We will also take reasonable steps to securely destroy or permanently de-identify your personally identifiable information when we no longer need it.

4. Sharing of Collected Data
We may share the Collected Data from you with other Government agencies and statutory boards in order to serve you in a most effective way, unless such sharing is prohibited by legislation.

We will not share your Personal Data and/or Additional Personal Data with any non-Government entities other than in limited circumstances including the following:

  • where third party companies perform services for us, including but not limited to email delivery, hosting and payment processing, or for the purpose of providing you with the Services that you request from us. However, these companies will only be entitled to use your personal information in order to provide the services requested by us or as may be required by law; or

  • where third parties (including other job portals) are engaged by us specifically for purposes related to employment facilitation, which require your Personal Data and/or Additional Personal Data; or

  • where necessary to enforce the Terms of Use, to protect the safety of our users and third parties, to protect our rights and property and the rights and property of other users and third parties, or in other cases if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law; or

  • your consent has been obtained for disclosure.

 

We may use the data you had previously supplied us or other Government agencies or statutory boards to customise and enhance your user experience when using the Website. This may include displaying to you programmes by WSG or its third-party providers in the form of pop-up advertisements which may be relevant to your needs.

For your convenience, we may also display to you data you had previously supplied us or other Government agencies or statutory boards. This may include, where relevant, pre-populating your data with your pre-existing data from MyInfo when you access the Website as an Individual. This will speed up the transaction and save you the trouble of repeating previous submissions. Should the data be out-of-date, please supply us the latest data.

Where your use of the Website is concerned, you acknowledge and accept that certain functions, when activated or used by you, will operate to send or display information about yourself, including but not limited to, your Personal Data and/or Additional Personal Data to certain third parties, and you agree to the sharing of such information with these third parties. You acknowledge and agree that we shall not be held responsible or accountable for any loss, injury or damage sustained by you for sharing the aforesaid information arising out of your activation or use of such features on the Website.

5. Anonymous Statistics
We may anonymise your non-personally identifiable Data, Additional Personal Data and/or Personal Data for the purposes of internal statistics ("Statistical Reports") to help us improve our Services. All information disclosed in the Statistical Reports shall only include non-personally identifiable data or anonymised data. We may in turn pass these Reports onto third parties.

6. Marketing Communications
If you should consent, from time to time you may receive from us a variety of communications, including but not limited to newsletters, emails and text messages (the "Marketing Communications"), that will include service updates, product advertising and offers related to our Services which we believe you may be interested in.

At any time, you may change your Marketing Communications preferences, either by:

  • electing to opt out from the Marketing Communications sent to you by following the ‘unsubscribe’ link which can be found at the bottom of the emails; or

  • contacting our team directly using the ‘Contact Us’ option, found either in the email we sent or on the Website.

 

Aside from Marketing Communications, please note that from time to time, you may receive some important service information that we believe is critical to the use of our Services. In these exceptional circumstances, such information will be sent to you regardless of your Marketing Communications preferences.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may revise this Policy from time to time and at our sole discretion. Although most changes are likely to be minor, we encourage visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to the Policy. Your continued use of this Website and the Services after any changes are made shall imply that you are aware of the changes in this Policy and shall constitute your deemed acceptance of such changes.

10. Minors

Our Services are available only to, and may only be used by, individuals who are eighteen (18) years old and older who can form legally binding contracts under applicable law, or in the event that you are below eighteen (18) years of age, you confirm that you have the Requisite Consent to the terms of this Policy. If you are below eighteen (18) years of age and found to be using the Services, without the Requisite Consent, and Personal Data and/or Additional Personal Data has been transmitted to us, we shall take the necessary steps to remove the Personal Data and/or Additional Personal Data collected and WSG may suspend your access to the Website and its Services.

This Policy shall be governed by and construed according to the laws of Singapore and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore Courts. In the event any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Policy including any question regarding its existence, validity or termination, WSG and you shall at first instance take reasonable efforts to settle and resolve such disputes in good faith and in an amicable manner by negotiation.
